Orders & Shipping
How long does shipping take?+
Coffee is roasted to order within 1–5 business days, then shipped via USPS, UPS, or FedEx. Total delivery time is typically 3–10 business days from order placement. You'll receive a tracking number as soon as your order ships.
Do you ship internationally?+
Yes, we ship internationally via USPS at the most affordable available rate. Delivery times vary by destination. Please note that customs duties and import fees may apply depending on your country.
Can I change or cancel my order?+
Orders can be modified or cancelled within 12 hours of placement. After that, roasting may have already begun and we may not be able to make changes. Contact us as quickly as possible at hello@the-pause.coffee.
Why hasn't my order shipped yet?+
Because every bag is freshly roasted after your order, there's a short processing window of 1–5 business days before shipment. This is what makes our coffee different — you're not receiving product that's been sitting in a warehouse for months.
Coffee
Where does your coffee come from?+
We source specialty-grade Arabica beans from farms across Ethiopia, Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, Nicaragua, and Indonesia. Each origin is selected for its unique flavor profile and quality.
What grind options are available?+
We offer whole bean and multiple grind sizes including drip, French press, espresso, pour-over, and cold brew. Select your preference on the product page before adding to your cart.
How fresh is the coffee when it arrives?+
Very fresh. Whole bean coffee is roasted and shipped the same day. Ground coffee ships the day after roasting. Every bag is at peak freshness when it arrives at your door — a far cry from supermarket coffee.
Is the coffee organic?+
Several of our offerings are certified organic, including our Peru Decaf and Mexico Chiapas. Check the product description for each coffee to see if it carries an organic certification.
Subscription
How does the subscription work?+
Choose your coffee, your grind, and your frequency (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly). We'll automatically roast and ship your order on schedule. You save 15% compared to one-time purchases, and you never run out.
Can I pause, skip, or cancel my subscription?+
Absolutely — no lock-ins, no penalties. You can pause, skip a shipment, or cancel at any time directly from your account. We believe in earning your loyalty, not trapping it.
Can I change my coffee selection mid-subscription?+
Yes, you can update your coffee selection, grind size, or frequency anytime from your account dashboard. Changes made before your next billing date will apply to the upcoming shipment.
Returns & Refunds
Can I return my coffee?+
Coffee is a perishable item, so returns are not accepted once an order has shipped. If you're unhappy with your purchase for any reason, please reach out to us and we'll do our best to make it right.
What if my order arrives damaged?+
If your order arrives damaged, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with a photo of the damage. We'll send a replacement at no cost to you. After 48 hours, we unfortunately cannot process exchanges.
Are express shipping fees refundable?+
Express shipping fees (Next Day Air, 2nd Day Air, etc.) are non-refundable in all cases. Standard shipping is not refunded unless the damage was caused by our fulfillment partner.
